In New Zealand, registration is required by law in order to undertake employment in certain occupations.
If you are applying for a work visa to work in one of these occupations, you must obtain the registration before a visa can be issued.
To find out the process involved in obtaining the registration, please contact the relevant authorities on the Registration Authorities list for details.
If you are completing an Expression of Interest, please note that the requirement for occupational registration can affect eligibility for points for qualifications and offers of employment.
For more information, please refer to instructions SM19 in the Skilled Migrant section of our Online Operational Manual.
