The Immediate Skill Shortage List (ISSL) and Long Term Skill Shortage List (LTSSL) are reviewed twice a year with submissions considered from industry representatives and employers.
The review process includes checking research on international skill shortages, New Zealand labour market reports, consultation with industry organisations, unions, other government departments and, in the case of additions to the LTSSL, Ministerial approval. More information on making a submission can be found on our Shortage Review pages.
