RSE Policy Pre-departure Orientation Pack

A new Recognised Seasonal Employer (RSE) pre-departure information package for Pacific workers has been developed, aiming at giving Pacific workers priority to fill horticulture (fruit and vegetables) and viticulture (wine) jobs when no New Zealand workers are available.

This information is intended to assist Pacific workers and help them to prepare before entering New Zealand, to help assure they do everything possible to benefit from their travel and working experience.

Each New Zealand Employer will have more information on hand to help the workers with working and living in New Zealand.

RSE Pre-departure Orientation Booklet

The RSE Pre-departure orientation booklet will help RSE workers to ‘get ready’ and prepared well before coming to New Zealand.

This information will be provided to the RSE workers by each Pacific States in Samoa, Tonga, Solomon Is., Kiribati, Vanuatu and Tuvalu.

The RSE Orientation booklet has been translated to six other Pacific languages.

The new “Get Ready Orientation Pack” also includes the following as inserts:

Pay Slip Sample

This is an example only. It shows the basic term an RSE worker can expect to see on a New Zealand payslip.

Note: A payslip a worker receives may look a bit different and the rates of pay may also be different. The RSE employer will explain to a worker these differences on payslip and rate of pay.

RSE ‘Get Ready Orientation’ DVD

A ‘Get Ready Orientation’ DVD was produced by the Department to compliment the RSE Orientation booklet.  If you would like a copy of this DVD please contact Anne Masoe anne.masoe@dol.govt.nz +64 4 915 6251.
