Job Vacancy Monitoring Programme:
A programme designed to provide new insights into skill shortages in New Zealand.
The programme comprises a number of surveys of employers who have recently advertised job vacancies, regular analysis of newspaper and Internet job advertisements and quantitative research into factors affecting supply of and demand for selected occupations.
Job Vacancy Monitor
The Job Vacancy Monitor is a monthly analysis of job advertisements in selected editions of 25 major newspapers around New Zealand. We classify and count the number of advertisements in each of 626 occupational categories by urban area and region.
A monthly report on data from the Job Vacancy Monitor is available
Occupational reports
The JVMP produces detailed reports for selected occupations where there
are thought to be skill shortages. Reports on 16 trade occupations are now
available. An overview document, summarising the findings
of the occupational reports, and a technical note are also available.
