New Faces, New Futures: New Zealand

Acknowledgements

The Department of Labour's Longitudinal Immigration Survey: New Zealand (LisNZ) project team includes staff from the International Migration, Settlement, and Employment Dynamics (IMSED) Research Group. The project team would like to thank several people for their assistance in preparing this report: Professor Richard Bedford, Professor Colleen Ward, Professor Lesleyanne Hawthorne, Professor William Clark, Michael Pergamit, and Professor David Fergusson (members of the External Advisory Group), Sarah Crichton (Department of Labour), and Cecile Thoreau (Statistics New Zealand). We would also like to thank members of Immigration Policy and the IMSED Research Groups who contributed to various phases of the report.

We also wish to thank all the migrants who generously gave their time to share their initial settlement experiences with us.

The LisNZ has been jointly developed by the Department of Labour and Statistics New Zealand. Statistics New Zealand conducted the fieldwork for the survey and the data was analysed in the Department of Labour's IMSED LisNZ data laboratory. The Department of Labour was responsible for all of the data analysis and the production of this report.

This research report presents the first results from the LisNZ project and is a significant milestone in the project after several years of development work, including the extensive work carried out on the pilot study. We would like to acknowledge all the Department of Labour and Statistics New Zealand staff members who have worked on this project since its inception, including members of the External Advisory Group and the Steering Group. Finally, we would like to thank other groups and individuals who have provided input into the LisNZ and the production and design of this report.
