Skill Challenges

This report presents the key skills challenges facing the New Zealand labour market over the medium to longer term. A well functioning labour market is one of the factors facilitating economic growth, along with other key factors such as access to capital and markets. The report finds that there will be strong growth in demand for people with post-school qualifications over the next 10 years and that having jobs that fully utilise such skills will be essential if New Zealand is to recruit and retain the workforce it needs in an open labour market.
